Normanton State School is a remote, rural school that offers learning experiences for students from Prep to Year 10. We are a co-educational school and we cater for students with a range of learning needs and interests.
We focus on improving student literacy and numeracy outcomes.
Our teachers base their curriculum on the Australian Curriculum using the Curriculum to Classroom (C2 C) resources in all key learning areas.
Students have specialist lessons in The Arts (Dance, Drama and Visual Arts), Technology (Digital and Design), ICT Skills and Health and Physical Education from Prep to Year 10.
Our Secondary students do a range of subjects including Manual Arts and Home Economics in Years 7 and 8, and Hospitality and Industrial Technology and Design in Years 9 and 10.
Year 9 and 10 students also participate in work experience twice yearly.Your role:
As a School Community Partnerships Facilitator you will:
Foster connections between schools, students, parents, and the local community and will co-ordinate collaborative efforts within and between agencies to provide targeted support to enhance learning experiences.
Your expertise in community engagement, coupled with your network of connections, will empower you to deliver transformative support that addresses attendance, engagement, and learning challenges, ultimately leading to improved educational outcomes for students at Normanton State School.
In your capacity as a School Community Partnerships Facilitator, you will work closely with community groups and parents, analysing attendance and truancy data, and liaising with various organisations to support students' health and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include organising school and community meetings, as well as facilitating the development of career pathways for students.
This role may require access to a car, a valid driver's license, and insurance, as this position may require visits to various communities, external organisations, and parents.
You will support your Normanton State School by analysing community trends and needs, consulting with key stakeholders, and promoting an exciting educational vision for the future.
