Description

UnitingCare Queensland, in partnership with Lifeworks Uniting Church Toowoomba, is seeking an experienced Community Ministry Leader to join the Lifeworks ministry team and the Connect100 network.

Connect100 is a program of Uniting Care Qld, which seeks to develop shared partnerships, provide enhanced pastoral care and support missional innovation throughout Qld communities.


The purpose of this role is to strengthen missional connections with Lifeworks Uniting and Uniting Care Qld, provide pastoral care to Uniting Care staff and lead missional initiatives.

This ministry position is a full-time role, suitable for an ordained minister or deacon, or layperson with the gifts and skills who will be able to be commissioned as a Pastor in the Uniting Church of Australia.

A summary of the position is listed below.


Lifeworks Community Mission + Partnerships

  • To facilitate the development of congregational community engagement
  • Build engagement and foster relationships between Lifeworks Uniting and Uniting Care Qld, developing pathways to connect
  • Establish collaborative opportunities to serve the community
  • Strengthen local partnerships with UnitingCare to more effectively support the wider community

Enhanced Pastoral Care

  • To provide pastoral care/chaplaincy support to UnitingCare Staff
  • Develop teams and train volunteers for community pastoral care and chaplaincy
  • Supporting existing pastoral mission of Lifeworks to Children, Youth and Young People
  • Participate in and contribute to the worship life of Lifeworks congregation

Missional Innovation

  • Explore and develop new mission initiatives and ministries with the Lifeworks congregation
  • Pioneer the development of programs and relational connections supporting missional innovation
  • Promoting the Vision of Connect100 and facilitate training of congregational leaders and volunteers in areas such as mission, community coordinating, community support and innovation
