Darebin Youth Services is current recruiting for a Youth Outreach Support Officer to join the services Youth Outreach team.


The key function of the role includes traveling across Darebin to actively engage young people in community locations to provide support and information.

The role also supports a range of youth programs and events that enhances their education and employment, health and wellbeing and community participation opportunities.

About the Role

The Youth Outreach Support Officer mobile based role within the Youth Outreach team at Darebin Youth Services working across key youth sites and community locations.


You will use your skill and experience to build connections and trust with young people in a range of community locations across Darebin, these may inlcude skateparks, community centres, transport hubs, shopping centres, etc.


  • Travel across Darebin to engage with young people to provide local information and support in the community via a mobile placebased outreach model
  • Support the planning and delivery of a range of youth programs, activities and events that engage and connect with young people in Darebin.
  • Provide specific support and referrals to young people via local partners and service supports.

Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications in Youth Work, Community Services, Community Development, Teaching/ Education or Social work
  • Experience working with young people in a community of local government setting.
  • Relevant experience in local government, youth and or community services
  • A current employee Working with Children Card
  • A current Victorian Driver's Licence
  • Current First Aid Level and CPR
