About the Role

This Venue Services Officer role forms part of the Operations and Technical Team that is responsible for all operational, technical and front of house support for the Arts Precincts activities, which include performances and events.


Duties

Customer Service

  • Provide friendly, focused and flexible customer service that is prompt, accurate, courteous and consistent to clients, customers and patrons
  • Respond positively to enquiries and requests in a calm and professional manner
  • Assist with venue tasks as required, including box office / reception duties
  • Act as a member of the FOH/bar team for events held in Arts Precinct facilities

Box Office / Reception Duties

  • Reception and administrative procedures
  • Respond positively to enquiries and take bookings according to procedures
  • Assist to reconcile and monies from bar, tickets, EFTPOS and floats
  • Assist with ordering, purchasing and monitoring stock in the bar where required

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and experience of the customer service requirements of a place of public entertainment or public events
  • Previous experience working in a community, cultural, arts, hospitality or entertainment industry venue, particularly in customer service or similar roles
  • A working knowledge of frontofhouse equipment used for performing arts, exhibitions, conferences, seminars, meetings and functions
  • A knowledge of evacuation/emergency procedures, fire regulations and safety issues
  • An ability to understand security requirements for public buildings and a commitment to implementing security procedures and practice
  • Bilingual skills would be an advantage

Qualifications, Certificates, Licences, and/or Experience

  • At least one year's experience in facetoface customer service delivery, cash handling and food and beverage operations.
  • Experience in a cultural facilities environment
  • Current Level 2 Workplace First Aid
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
  • A current Working with Children Card
