Salary starting from $67,975 pa + super:

**Assist biosecurity staff deliver biosecurity programs in animal health, welfare and invasive species by undertaking on ground works, and providing good customer service outcomes.

Greater Sydney Local Land Services are looking for two Biosecurity Support Officers **to assist with the delivery of animal biosecurity and welfare, plant biosecurity, invasive species, and emergency response operational frontline, field service and regulatory activities across the region.

There are two positions are available and these roles have three main focuses:

Undertaking day to day in the field delivery of animal and plant biosecurity activities and programs
Assisting with regulatory compliance work to ensure legislated biosecurity obligations including pest and disease management and livestock and plant traceability are met
Assisting with new and emerging animal and plant biosecurity issues, incidents, and emergency responses

If successful, the role includes a large amount of training, and as such you will need to be willing and prepared to learn.

You will need to be able to follow procedures and processes (especially as you'll be handling dangerous substances and pesticides), and be able to balance your work in an environment that is technically complex and often unpredictable and where emergency situations may take priority over planned activities.

About You:

This is a role for someone who loves being in the field and working with people and animals, and to be successful you'll need to have a current NSW Class C Driver License and the ability and willingness to travel (including overnight stays) as required.

Ideally, applicants should have some or all of the following qualifications, however, if not you will need to have the ability and willingness to obtain these as part of your employment in the role:

The capacity to hold a NSW firearms licence or equivalent, as well as obtain the Statement of Attainment
Use firearms to humanely destroy animals (AQF AHCVPT203A or AHCPMG304)
