The Opportunity
Monash University recently soared into the Top 50 Global rankings and is Australia's largest University.


Monash Residential Services (MRS) provides a range of on and off-campus accommodation options and services to students, staff, the business community and short-term visitors to Monash and manages three thousand residential rooms alongside a range of off-campus housing services.

At each MRS residential location there is a 24/7 Residential Support Team focused on developing and maintaining a strong residential community, responding to incidents and delivering a range of support and engagement activities, events and initiatives.


The Associate Director is responsible for providing leadership to all aspects of the centralised MRS administration services across all campuses, including Admissions, Off Campus, Customer Service, Marketing and communication, Scholarships, Revenue and Debt Collection.

The position oversees twenty staff in addition to casuals.


The position will implement strategies that will maximise the benefits of investment in student accommodation, whilst also identifying opportunities for improvements to current Business Systems Solutions, reporting to key stakeholders, monitoring feedback from customers and current university best practise that will enhance the service delivery to customers, improve retention, exceed budgeted revenue and occupancy targets.


About You


As an experienced leader, you will hold relevant postgraduate qualifications and experience within a tertiary residential setting or in the broader hospitality industry.

With a strong customer service focus you take pride in delivering high quality services including the effective resolution of customer complaints and creating a customer centric culture.

You possess a high level of planning and organisational skills and are skilled in developing and maintaining financial planning and business management processes and documentation.

You are known for your exceptional communications skills and can adapt your style to suit different needs.

Awareness of OHS, Student Equity practices and staying across changes to the Residential Tenancies Act are key to your success.
