About the role

  • The Director of Nursing / Manager is responsible for the management of acute, residential aged care and district nursing services at Waranga Health. The portfolio also includes management of the administrative services, hotel support and maintenance services, and the Community Health Coordinatory. In this strategic leadership position, the Director of Nursing / Manager is responsible for providing efficient and effective management of the portfolio to ensure continual performance monitoring and quality improvement in the delivery of highquality and safe patient care. It is the responsibility of the Director of Nursing / Manager to ensure that accreditation, standards and legislative requirements are achieved. The Director of Nursing / Manager reports to the Divisional Operations Director Subacute and Ambulatory Care, and works closely with local General Practitioners and Pharmacists, and the Community Reference Group.

We are looking for

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • A minimum of two years' revious experience and a record of achivement in a senior management role in acute, aged or community services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of State and Commonwealth legislation and accreditation requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial management and funding models within the health care sector

Selection Criteria

  • Essential : Commitment to the GV Health Values of Compassion, Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork and Ethical Behaviour and ability to exhibit behaviour which reflects our values.
  • Essential : Current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Essential : Previous experience and record of achievement in a senior management position in acute, aged or community services (minimum of two years' experience).
  • Essential : Demonstrated knowledge of State and Commonwealth legislation and accreditation.
  • Essential : Demonstrated ability in the development and implementation of operational plans with successful outcomes.
  • Essential : Ability to lead a culture of care for patients and staff.
  • Essential : High level interpersonal communication skills and significant stakeholder management experience.
  • Desirable : Relevant tertiary and / or postgraduate qualification in health management, business, education or health policy.
