    Director - Program Delivery & CommercialGeneral/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)

    Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ) is an independent, not-for-profit industry-focused organisation established as a result of a Queensland Government commitment to grow and strengthen the manufacturing sector in the state.

    MSQ's purpose is to build a sustainable and skilled workforce to future-proof the manufacturing industry, which employs over 177,000 workers and contributes $23 billion to the state's economy.

    Reporting to the CEO, the Program Delivery & Commercial Director plays a crucial role in enhancing the strategic positioning and performance of the organisation.

    You will lead a small team of professionals across workforce planning, training and development, contract management, and commercial development.

    This role requires an executive with a proven track record of establishing and fostering productive relationships with a commercial focus across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.


    Key Responsibilities:


    Lead the development and delivery of innovative training programs that meet the needs of the manufacturing industry today and into the future.

    Design and implement the Annual Training Plan (ATP) from both a design and delivery perspective.

    Collaborate with industry partners, VET facilitators, and other relevant parties to ensure that skills and training programs remain relevant, engaging, and purpose-driven.

    Ensure smooth and successful program delivery.
    Work closely with other MSQ departments to conduct detailed data analysis supporting all program management activities.
    Manage and monitor all existing government contracts.
    Negotiate with service providers to ensure value for money.
    Identify viable commercial opportunities for MSQ to support further business objectives.
    Promote and support the manufacturing sector concerning commercial opportunities.
    Represent MSQ on interdepartmental, national, and industry committees, as well as participate in key government and business forums.
    Undertake additional key duties and responsibilities as directed by the CEO.
    You must possess significant talent, drive, and determination to succeed in an ever-changing environment.

    You will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to influence and negotiate with numerous stakeholders.

    Relevant qualifications, knowledge of government processes, and experience delivering a business plan while identifying and addressing risks are essential.

    Your ability to understand key business drivers and translate these into sound commercial decisions in a similar environment or related industry will be highly regarded.

    Additionally, your skill in inspiring individuals and teams in the pursuit of results is crucial.
