The Opportunity

Experienced Work Health and Safety candidates are in high demand right now.We have a wide range contracts, permanent positions, non-ongoing roles, and section 26 transfers from our government, consulting, and private sector clients available.

The Role

As a WHS Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation complies with relevant WHS laws, regulations, and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Contribute to continuous improvement of WHS management system, promoting health and wellbeing initiatives
• Provide legislative advice to stakeholders and manage issue resolution
• Assist workers and managers with specialist WHS support
• Coordinate health initiatives such as influenza vaccinations and wellbeing weeks
• Aid data analysis, reporting on WHS and wellbeing; assist with internal audit reviews of WHSMS

The Ideal Person

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in work health and safety, coupled with exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels. They will have:

• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of record management and safety risk management practices
• Ability to apply judgment and decision-making in a fast-paced environment
• Prioritisation skills, adaptability, and adherence to APS values and Code of Conduct

Salary / Rate

• $75k – $100k + Super
