About the role:
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly capable and motivated Project Officer (APS5 Level) to join our client's dynamic team.
As a Project Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's objectives and contributing to the successful implementation of projects within a national disability support system.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in project management and coordination activities, including monitoring and reviewing program and project activities against plans.
- Contribute to the development and management of project plans and schedules in alignment with the agency's project management framework.
- Provide advice, procedural guidance, and technical expertise in specific areas of project work.
- Perform research work and analysis, including contributing to the preparation of reports on relevant project activities.
- Contribute to regular project reporting, including status updates and exception reports.
- Draft various written materials such as business cases, plans, executive briefs, and corporate documentation for review.
- Assist in monitoring project budgets, reviewing and reporting on expenditure, and supporting procurement and contract management.
- Support the identification and management of project risks, issues, and benefits.
- Contribute to project quality management, ensuring deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve program, project, and business outcomes.
About you:
- Experience in project management and coordination, with a demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and precedents.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to contribute to report preparation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft various types of documents.
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently organize workflow.
- Stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to resolve moderately complex to complex inquiries.
Work Environment:
- The role primarily operates in an open office environment and may involve working in a team or hot desk setup.
- Flexibility in managing demanding workloads, competing priorities, and occasional work interruptions is required.
- The position involves significant periods of deskbased work, including phone usage and facetoface interactions.
- There may be occasional travel to different geographical locations as needed.
