About the role

  • We are seeking three enthusiastic, creative and dedicated teachers to join our vibrant school community on the Redlands Coast with teaching combinations in the areas of:

  • We have the following three positions available:
  • Continuing
  • Fixed Term (Parental Leave school year
  • Fixed Term school year
  • As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:_
  • Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learnercentred, safe, supportive, cooperative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
  • Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
  • Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
  • Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
  • Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

About you
To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:

  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:

  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

As the only co-educational Catholic secondary college on the scenic Redlands Coast, Carmel College provides education for more than 1200 students from Years 7 to 12.

_Do I have to be Catholic?_
All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.


Our teachers of Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school.
