- Supervise team members – 6 staff
- Hold regular one to one and team meetings
- Ensure staff cross-training throughout the team covering all the products
- Monitor ongoing staff performance and perform yearly appraisals
- Provide leadership for Trade & Supply Chain Operations function; raise the standard of performance to meet the goals of internal stakeholders and external Customers;
- Oversee & implement standardised processes, analyse/measure productivity & workload, lead process improvement through day-to-day BAU work;
- Develop and document policies, SOPs, and workflows to bring efficiency to a high-volume and deadline-driven environment;
- Execute, implement operational projects/plans, delegating tasks/assignments and measure results;
- Undertake responsibility for review, drafting, processing and authorisation of Guarantee applications, ensure potential risks concerning the wordings are raised, either accepted by Legal/Business or mitigated by revision, making sure all ambiguities and contradictions are addressed;
- Assume responsibilities related to Documentary Letters of credit; Classification : Internal
- Perform all controls, ensure LC/SBLC/Guarantees are issued in accordance policies, UCP Rules, Trade Finance, Guarantee & SCF Checklists, local branch SOPs, Credit Risk authorisation tickets, Special requirements and agreed client conditions;
- Exposure to a broad range of Trade Finance products with thorough experience in handling Documentary Letters of Credit/Standby LCs & Bank Guarantees
- Minimum 7+ years' direct experience with progressive responsibility and management experience
- In-depth technical knowledge of UCP600, ISP98 & URDG75
- Advanced Excel and MS Office applications
- Knowledge and understanding of the Australian and global banking regulatory and compliance environments
- Experience of controls to manage Operational Risks

The Trade Finance operations team is responsible for the front to back processing of Documentary Letters of Credit & Collections, handles Receivable & Payable financing, Issuance of Bank guarantees for corporate clients including Domestic and International Bank Guarantees/Standby Letters of Credit.
The main responsibilities of the Trade Finance Operations Team Leader is to oversee the operations function, drive operational excellence, provide prompt, accurate resolutions of operational issues, and ensure adherence to comply with internal & external regulatory and compliance requirements.
