About the opportunity


The Communications Manager (12 Month Fixed Term Contract) will have responsibility for driving adoption activity for Viva Engage and Microsoft Teams, our primary channels for frontline communication.

Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, Digital Communications, you will develop and execute adoption communications, resources, and training.

This role will work closely with our frontline operational teams in deliveries, processing, and retail to increase engagement with Australia Post's internal communications.

Critical to this role will be working collaboratively across the enterprise and business teams.

You will build effective relationships at all levels of the business and develop a deep understanding of business needs and stakeholder audiences.


You'll be responsible for:


  • Helping develop and deliver our frontline communications strategy and thinking about strategic initiatives that will improve communication for our frontline team members.
  • Supporting adoption of Microsoft tools such as Viva Engage, Microsoft Teams, Copilot, and other initiatives by developing, advising, and delivering communications and training to enhance leader, team member and stakeholder engagement.
  • Building trusted relationships with frontline leaders across the entire business, and preparing presentations, communications, and training.
  • Working with Executive Managers and Executive Assistants to drive best practice and leader engagement with key communications tools.
  • Managing the change, consolidation, and adoption of AP Communications Channels, leveraging new and existing channels to support strategic objectives.
  • Leading and supporting enterprisewide project teams, champion networks and advisory groups on adoption of communications tools.
  • Helping investigate and distribute internal good news stories.
  • Providing best practice strategic communication advice to stakeholders and engaging frontline leaders and team members.
  • Collaborating with the wider Communications and Technology team to ensure consistency of business messages and alignment with enterprisewide programs.
  • Supporting the wider Enterprise Communications team, when needed.
  • Helping manage the calendar of communications activity.
  • Working with the Head of Team on projects and opportunities for innovation for the team

About you


You are an experienced communications specialist, action-oriented, creative, and good at presenting and influencing at all levels within a business.

You are looking for a challenging opportunity in a large fast-paced organisation. You are organised, efficient, adaptable and have a solution-focused attitude.

You're inquisitive, proactive, eager to get stuff done, and enjoy building strong relationships with team members and stakeholders across the business.


What are we looking for?

  • Approximately 7 years' experience as a communications professional in a large, complex, and highly regulated organisation.
  • Experience in developing, executing, and evaluating communications and adoption plans.
  • Understanding of a wide variety of digital communication channels and techniques, including digital communications.
  • Experience in working for organisations with large frontline teams in logistics or retail, that have a geographically spread workforce is preferred but not essential.
  • Organised and efficient.
  • Experience delivering training and briefings to large groups and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, change communications and project management skills.
  • Understanding of issues and reputational impact.
