Lead a committed team of 5FTE to embed best practice HRM in a diverse, values-based organisation of approx. 500 employees.
The Role
The Human Resources and Work Health and Safety Manager will report to the Deputy Director (Deputy CEO) and will manage a HR team (2x Coordinators and 2x HRBPs) as well as a WHS Coordinator.
The purpose of the HR & WHS Manager position is to embed best practice HRM & WHS strategies and systems with a focus on continuous improvement.
They will increase HRM & WHS capacity at all levels of the organisation, maximise strategic outcomes and minimise associated risk.
The HR & WHS Manager will align to the values of the organisation and will be a trusted and collaborative advisor to all stakeholders.
What you need to bring
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or related discipline
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain highperforming teams
- Leadership experience in areas of HR strategy, IR/ER and WHS
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and positive change
- Trusted, collaborative, emotionally intelligent and resilient leader
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to support the team in complex matters across a variety of generalist HR and WHS matters
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and influence desired outcomes
- Welldeveloped project management skills
- Experienced in negotiations with unions
- Experienced in preparing management, business and compliance reports
- Experienced in development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously known as 'Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance')
- Valid NDIS worker screening check.
- Outofhours work and regional travel required
Desirable
- Qualification in Work, Health and Safety
- Experience with Return to Work and Injury Management in a selfinsured organisation
- Experience in the notforprofit, community services sector
- Knowledge and understanding of the issues being faced by the community and Disability Services workforce
