Visit Victoria employs 160 people in Melbourne and across key international markets.

Our Melbourne office is in Collins Square, with satellite offices in London, Frankfurt, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Tokyo, Singapore, Los Angeles, Washington DC and Kuala Lumpur, and agency representation in Korea, India and Indonesia.


About the Position:

Ever wanted to work on some of the biggest and best events in the country like the Australian Open, Formula 1, Melbourne Fashion Festival and Food and Wine Festival.

We are seeking a Coordinator to join our high performing and tight knit team to do all this and more


We are passionate about what we do and are looking for someone who is keen, creative, focused and organized to join us.

This role will support a team of four other PR and communications professionals to promote the very best of Melbourne and Victoria, and in return, we'll support you.


Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate and/or contribute to the implementation of a range of public relations strategies, activities, campaigns or events aligned with Visit Victoria's strategic priorities.
  • Liaise with Visit Victoria management and staff, trade partners, Tourism Australia and other public and private sector agencies and industry representatives in order to coordinate project outputs and timelines effectively.
  • Develop editorial content for Visit Victoria's owned communication assets.
  • Prepare and distribute media materials, as directed.
  • Support to deliver PR and communications tactics across major events.
  • Support the development and implementation of the familiarisation program, including public relations and media material and representation at events and familiarisation visits.
  • Prepare team reports.
  • Monitor Visit Victoria's PR inbox and provide timely responses to all requests.
  • Manage the Corporate Relations Team calendar and ensure it is always accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with website and social media updates, as required.
  • Provide general administrative assistance across the Media and Communications Team.
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) is the responsibility of all team members across Visit Victoria. Team members are expected to comply with all company policies and procedures regarding OH&S, and actively participate in the identification and resolution of any hazards and immediately report all incidents and injuries.

Experience & Skills:


  • Demonstrated written communication skills and the ability to generate high quality media materials, editorial content, briefs and reports.
  • Strong administration experience including the upkeep of databases, reports and calendars.
  • Experience in updating websites, blogs and social media channels.
  • Experience in the field of consumer public relations or marketing, with an interest in and awareness of consumer travel, lifestyle and digital media.
  • Demonstrated passion for Victoria and tourism.
  • Proven ability to effectively coordinate and manage work activities independently or as part of a team with mínimal supervision and direction, including setting priorities and working to tight deadlines.
