  • Term Contract (temporary up to 5 Aug 2028)
  • As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of appointment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 6 month or 12 month allocation as Advanced Trainee / Registrar in Women's Anaesthesia will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities._
  • Note: The Total Indicative Remuneration is inclusive of Award Salary, Superannuation, any relevant allowance and any other monetary benefits._

We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.


Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.


Join our Women's Anaesthesia team and contribute to providing South Australia's women, babies, children and young people with the best health care within our hospital.


The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Advanced Trainee, Women's Anaesthesia full-time from 06/08/2025.


This role is to provide analgesia services for labouring women and anaesthesia for delivery and its complications and gynaecological procedures at Women's and Children's Hospital.


Some features of this opportunity are:

  • This position is suitable for Trainees seeking a Provisional Fellowship Year (PFY) as accredited by ANZCA.
  • The Advanced Trainee/Registrar will demonstrate a commitment to clinical teaching of junior Anaesthesia Registrars.
  • You will participate in research projects and audits within the Department.
  • Participate in the Registrar on Call Roster and Oncall responsibilities will include limited support for Paediatric Anaesthesia.
  • May participate in the afterhours consultant roster with appropriate consultant backup.
  • Has the option of training in hypnosis in relation to obstetric Anaesthesia.
