About the role
We have a permanent leadership opportunity for an experienced procurement leader to lead the Strategic Procurement Team at Water Corporation.
You will be responsible for the Water Corporation's strategic sourcing approach, spend category management, supply chain strategies and identifying opportunities for value for money sourcing and effective purchasing, contracting and supplier management.
There is also a great opportunity to help shape responsible and sustainable procurement as part of Water Corporation's broader ESG Strategy.
This role reports into the Head of Procurement and Property and as a member of the procurement leadership team, you will play a key role in setting strategic objectives, delivering value for money outcomes and building a positive and collaborative, customer focussed culture.
What the role will offer
- Lead a diverse team that provides valuable services to the business, at a very formative time
- Coordinate, lead, develop and implement procurement change initiatives to ensure sustainable and continuing procurement performance improvement and best practice
- Support and enable the delivery of the endtoend strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, logistics delivery & management processes effectively and efficiently by ensuring best commercial, procurement and supply chain practices
- Liaise with the different functions across the supply chain and business endusers, and contribute to the formation of procurement strategies, practices and processes
- Undertake and lead procurement reporting, research, total cost analysis and intelligence to identify and develop commercial insights, best practice, benchmark standards and performance indicators for sourcing, procurement, purchasing and supplier management
- Participate in and manage communications and relationships within the Corporation, with regulators, external service providers, industry leaders and consultants relating to sourcing, procurement, purchasing and supplier management
- Develop and support strategies to optimise supplier selection, onboarding and management, including contributing to procurement and supply chain strategy, optimisation and capability development.
Key skills and experience
You're a strategic procurement leader at heart. Every fibre of you ensures your managers and their teams deliver against their business objectives and plans.
We are looking for someone with a strong procurement background with demonstrated achievements in leading, developing and implementing plans, programs, systems, and cultural change initiatives.
Your background and wide-ranging grasp of strategic procurement frameworks, business integration, analytics, problem solving and stakeholder management gives you the insights to continually improve ways of working - and find better outcomes for customers in the business.
