Your excellent skills and motivation will contribute to the development and support of the delivery of Corporate strategies and initiatives that drive enhanced Aboriginal employment, development and retention by providing support to managers and Aboriginal employees throughout the employee lifecycle.


What you'll do:


  • Maintain strong relationships, engagement and consultation with Aboriginal communities, organisations, external networks and internal stakeholders to further Aboriginal employment
  • Work with Aboriginal employees and their managers to identify critical employee development and employment initiatives
  • Support the delivery of Aboriginal pastoral care, mentoring programs and peer support networks for assigned portfolio
  • Identify partnership opportunities and promote Water Corporation's Aboriginal employment strategy to external stakeholders
  • Coordinate a variety of employee gatherings and programs
  • Work in partnership with the recruitment team to provide input into culturally appropriate recruitment practices and approaches (attraction, selection, onboarding and induction)
  • Supporting the delivery of a cultural competency program for Managers and Supervisors of Aboriginal employees

Key skills and experience:


  • An appropriate tertiary qualification and relevant experience or considerable experience in Aboriginal employment and development
  • Developed relationships with external stakeholders including government agencies, and Aboriginal community networks
  • An understanding of barriers to equality of opportunity and diversity within large complex organisations
  • Experience providing pastoral care
  • Current knowledge of relevant discrimination legislation
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus
