How will I help?


As the Team Manager of the Indigenous Connection Team (ICT), your role will be to support and guide a team of Bankers to be the best they can be in their day-to-day roles by connecting with them through a genuine interest in helping our Indigenous customers and creating opportunities.


This is achieved by side-by-side coaching, regular 1:1's, call monitoring, feedback, compliance conversations, and always leading by example delivering on our Own the Moment Framework.

You will work with the Indigenous Operations Managers and internal stakeholders to identify gaps in performance and risk and take accountability for complaints.

You will be responsible for the further development of your team and future career aspirations within Indigenous Banking or the wider group, and help your Bankers reach their goals.


What do I need to succeed?

  • Assist the Indigenous Operations Manager to deliver on the performance expectations for the Indigenous Connection Team and the wider business.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to execute plans to address identified performance gaps and assist in delivering on both local and national business performance initiatives.
  • Be responsible for the development and career planning of their Bankers through regular 1:1's and career conversations.
  • Have behavioural and performance conversations with direct reports.
  • Drive customer experience and employee engagement through facilitating team meetings, delivering strategic communications, and arranging of team huddles and sales meetings.
  • Drive a sales culture by embedding the sales conversation framework.
  • Facilitation of any onboarding activities for new recruits and on the job learning that is required for a Banker to become fully proficient in their role.
  • Be hands on in the recruitment process as well the leave management of existing team members.
  • Be responsible and take accountability for complaints.
  • Collaborating with the Westpac Remote Service Team in their planning and executing of community trips to ensure sufficient ICT support during community visits.
  • Continually leverage effective relationships with external stakeholders to identify opportunities and achieve growth and inclusion in Indigenous communities.
