The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Traffic Engineering expert to join our Sydney team as an Associate Director.

You will be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of traffic planning and assessment including advice relating to the required tools, techniques and analysis associated with planning and development impacts.

With your technical background, you will be expected to bring considerable leadership, credibility and professionalism to the role, and build and maintain new and existing relationships with clients and contribute to the overall growth of Transport Advisory.


You will be:


  • Providing an expert range of services including advice relating the assessment of developments, traffic engineering integration, approval processes and management.
  • Providing advanced understanding of the trip generation, its impacts and mitigation measures across the range of planning and development opportunities.
  • Providing advice to internal and external clients on appropriate subcontractors for specific areas of traffic and transport assessments (e.g. traffic modelling, road design, road safety audits).
  • Achievement of revenue targets that comprise both Personal Fees and Work Under Management, through strong service delivery and project management;
  • Assisting with forecasting, project budgeting and financial management;
  • Supporting the delivery of strategic transport advisory projects and other national initiatives;
  • Providing with others, technical and management support to the Transport Advisory team (and staff members) on a daytoday basis, ensuring committed projects are, and remain, commercially viable;
  • Supporting Directors to achieve 'wholeofoffice' business plan outcomes, in conjunction with other Business Units;
  • Proactively identify opportunities to engage and work collaboratively with colleagues from other disciplines and Business Units across Urbis and Cistri and the broader firm on crossdisciplinary projects;
  • Generating new work and sustained and profitable business performance, through the maintenance of, and building upon, existing and potential client relationships and professional networks, across a range of industry sectors;
  • Keeps abreast of market developments and industry trends affecting the business and devise strategies to respond;

About You:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Traffic Engineering.
  • Relevant experience, ideally gained in a consultancy environment
  • Proven ability to manage and develop team members
  • Developing ability to identify and win new clients and business in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane
