Reporting into the Head of Safety Assurance, the Group Safety Assurance Manager takes leadership responsibility across the Safety Assurance Function in Melbourne.

They would also manage, perform and ensure the activities related to safety assurance in Projects are in line with project and Alstom standard.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Safety Assurance Team in Melbourne in accordance with agreed Alstom ways of working and strategy
  • Manage and delegate all the Safety Assurance activities on the project / system / product as per Safety process defined in Signalling Safety Instruction
  • Support tenders and/or Project teams to integrate product/system in projects
  • Manage and delegate the build of the Safety Reports and/or the Safety Cases
  • Attend Periodic Safety Reviews
  • Defend Safety Case argumentations in front of internal (QS, Safety Assessor) and external (ISA) assessors; define and followup action plans to close the findings of the assessors
  • Manage the Safety Assurance Engineers involved on the project / system / product (Internal or external resources)

To be successful

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Relevant experience working within Safety Assurance in a Systems bases environment (Signalling highly desirable).
  • Good Communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership management in a functional group setting
