As part of the project we will design, manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for METRONET projects and the replacement of the A-series trains.

We will also deliver 6 DMU railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury.


Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role would see you perform all mechanical installations to complete the assembly of the train, where no day will be the same We have several opportunities for
Mechanical
Fitters to join our team at Bellevue to enjoy a range of benefits and a close knit, hardworking team environment.


Role duties include;

  • Install and assemble railway vehicle components using standard work procedures, hand & power tools
  • Use and manipulate lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace and align subassemblies and components
  • Ensuring that all work is efficiently planned in Bogie Shop and Assembly workshop, controlled and undertaken in a safe manner to the standards set down by the customer and Alstom
  • Perform selfInspection of railway car components in order to identify defects and ensure quality
  • Remove and replace defective parts and components
  • Proficiently cross reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor and ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and production targets
  • Work closely with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Organize work instruction documents, tools and railway car parts daily

  • Experience in Mechanical production or assembly is highly regarded
  • Certificate 3 in Mechanical Trade
  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions
