HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR

REPORTS TO Director of Human Resources and Strategic Operations


DIRECT REPORTS Nil

PURPOSE To provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and Strategic Operations and to coordinate the Human
Resources processes across the School.


ENVIRONMENT This position is a 38 hours per week role, Monday to Friday. The span of hours will be 8:00am to 4:00pm, with reasonable additional
hours required when necessary.


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Human Resources

  • Manage the flow of work for the Director of HR and Strategic Operations
  • Manage the HR Departments diary and scheduling of interviews and appointments
  • Coordinate end to end recruitment including developing job briefs and position
descriptions, advertising, screening, interviewing, preparation of employment contracts
and the collation of information for employees

  • Coordinate on boarding processes, including new staff induction programs
  • Manage internal systems for data accuracy of employee information
  • Maintain, monitor and record all staff movements
  • Maintain records and documentation for the employee lifecycle
  • Provide general HR advice and guidance
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure the School is compliant with relevant legislation and
mandatory staff requirements i.e. Working With Children Check, National Criminal Record
Check and VIT registration

  • Coordinate the Feedback and Recognition process
  • Coordinate Workers Compensation claims and documentation
  • Participate in HR Project work as required including IT and process improvement
  • Maintain evacuation checklists
  • Ensure the Human Resources area of the Staff Portal is monitored for accuracy
  • Prepare reports and data on employee related matters
  • Comply with Occupation Health and Safety procedures
  • Ensure that the diversity of all children, including (but not limited to) the needs of
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically
diverse backgrounds, children with disabilities, and children who are vulnerable needs
are met

Skills required:

  • Formal qualifications in Human Resources (Highly desirable)
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role (previous school experience desirable)
  • Advanced skills in administration and computer literacy (Microsoft Office
  • Word, excel and
  • Powerpoint and GoogleDocs are essential)
  • Superb attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
