PURPOSE The purposes of this role are: to mentor, coach and contribute to the
overall development of the Lowther Hall sports program.
ENVIRONMENT This is a casual position
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
TRAINING
- Attendance at training sessions as decided by the Director of Sport
- Maintaining familiarity with the latest information and literature on a sport and its coaching
- Awareness of correct skills, technique, rules and regulations
- Attendance where possible at coaching courses and seminars, leading to either a
- Provision of a structured program of coaching
- Teaching of correct technique, skills
- Provision of motivation, support and encouragement for the squad
- Selection of the squad in consultation with the Director of Sport / Sport Coordinator
- Provision of an integrated program of coaching and fitness in conjunction with the other
OVERALL DUTY OF CARE
- The most important responsibility of the Coach is the overall duty of Care of the students
- The Coach must attend all training sessions and competitions as directed by Director of
- Sport
- Health and safety matters must be paramount at all times and all problems are to be
- At training sessions and events, the Coach must arrive first and take full responsibility for
- The Coach will be last to leave, ensuring that each girl has been safely collected
- Good liaison with parents
- Ensure that the diversity of all children, including (but not limited to) the needs of Aboriginal
backgrounds, children with disabilities, and children who are vulnerable needs are met
- Comply with Lowther Hall policies and processes

- An understanding of the Lowther Hall context
- An appropriate undergraduate study/qualification
- Awareness of correct skills, technique, rules and regulations
- A current and appropriate WWCC registration
- An understanding of child safe standards
- Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate with a commitment to ongoing training
- Current anaphylaxis management qualification
- Current asthma management qualification
- Willingness to undertake a National Criminal History Record Check upon appointment
