About Us
Our External Audit teams provide assurance on the financial reporting and operations of our clients' businesses.

Working with some of Australia's largest organisations across a range of industries, our team builds trust in financial reporting, solves complex business issues and provides confidence in big decisions.


What is the Trainee Program?
As a Trainee, you'll embark on a two-year journey of combined work and study with PwC.

You'll join us four (4) days a week (on a full-time salary) while you study part-time for two (2) years.

You'll then take a break from full-time work to complete your degree

That's why you'll receive one (1) day of paid study while you work four days a week This means you'll receive a full-time salary while you study As a trainee, you'll combine your university studies with work experience to build the perfect foundation for your career, all while receiving professional and financial support in a full-time paid role.


About the Opportunity
In the External Audit teams, you'll find yourself in a culture that values humility, courage and realism. Alongside your peers, you'll solve problems like providing accurate financial reporting or improving clients' controls and systems. You'll use your skills in accounting, finance, and problem-solving to make an impact in a range of industries. You'll better understand how businesses operate, taking a holistic approach as you assess risk to help companies to succeed.


Through External Audit, you'll also have the opportunity to gain diverse experience across multiple industries and specialist capabilities such as ESG, CFO Advisory, Accounting Consulting Services, Risk & Regulation or even take part in our world class Digital Accelerator training program.

You'll work with top tier clients across Banking & Insurance, Retail, Healthcare, Real Estate & Investments, Construction, Energy, Utilities, Resources, Transport & Logistics and more.

What will a normal day look like? Well, you can count on that every day you will:

  • Use your skills across multiple industries
  • Gain diverse experience through specialty Assurance teams
  • Work with teams where everyone brings a different perspective
As a trainee in External Audit, the top three skills you'll need to hit the ground running are:

  • An ability to engage and influence people, building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Team player with a positive 'can do' attitude to challenges
  • Act with integrity and show care for the people and clients you work with
Anticipated start date is either 4 December 2023 or 15 January 2024. Start dates vary across locations.
