Mechanical Fitter trades assistant

Starting Time:

ASAP

Shift Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8AM-04:30PM

Pay:
$30 - $35 per hr plus Super & OT

About the role

We offer a permanent position to a skilled Mechanical Trades Assistant to support Quality Assurance workers in the workshop, performing various mechanical fitting and testing tasks.

Responsibilities:

Assisting QA workers in the inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts.
Assist in the assembly and disassembly of machinery and components.
Follow technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals to ensure accurate assembly and installation.
Use hand and power tools to perform tasks such as drilling, cutting, and grinding.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

Prior experience in a similar role as a mechanical trades assistant or relevant mechanical work experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical systems.
Ability to effectively use and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in mechanical fitting.
Basic understanding of safety protocols and practices in a workshop environment.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
