Parkdale Aged Care has 52 aged care residential beds and is located in Parkdale, Victoria. We pride ourselves on delivering the best care for our residents and firmly believe that happy staff equates to happy residents.

About the Role...


The Lifestyle Team Leader reports to the Manager and provides planning and facilitation of lifestyle activities, which support the emotional well-being of the residents.

Lifestyle planned activities can range from music, reading, religious support, craft, gardening, games, inhouse entertainment, pet therapy including dementia specific programs and many more activities.

The Lifestyle Team leader runs the program of activities and is hands on as well as the team leader of Lifestyle.


We have weekday part time shifts available, across Monday to Friday with a possibility of weekend shifts in the future.


About you...


You are a highly organised energetic and self-motivated individual - someone who can manage their time, develop, plan and facilitate the activities schedule and be flexible with their workloads.

You will be able to develop and maintain good community relationships for the wellbeing and lifestyle of our residents. You'll have a high level of teamwork with colleagues and your Team Leader and empathy and compassion too.

To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following:


Essential skills and competencies:


  • Qualifications in Lifestyle or diversional therapy and significant experience in a lifestyle team leader aged care position
  • Ability to develop and run lifestyle activities and experience guiding and supporting colleagues.
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal English) and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with dementia specific lifestyle programs
  • Friendly and positive engaging personality
  • A passion for working in aged care with lifestyle activities
  • Computer and documentation skills
  • Understanding of Hygiene and Safety practices in aged care
  • Current police check

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

  • Food Safety Certificate
  • An understanding of the Aged Care Standards, accreditation, continuous improvement and
  • AN-ACC requirements.
