Your day-to-day

Report to work punctually ten minutes prior to start time on the roster, dressed in appropriate uniform and with impeccable grooming which complies with the Hotel's policy and procedures.
During service, maintain cleanliness and appearance of immediate work area, including tables, stations, bar area, backofhouse preparation areas etc. Maintain standard of cleanliness of all items of operating equipment within these areas.
Be familiar with food and beverage item par stocks, requisitioning procedures and transfers. Rotate perishable stock of food and beverage items on a 'firstin firstout' basis ensuring they are stored securely in the correct location.
Perform department/outlet opening or closing duties as required. Ensure that wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout shift.
Attend briefings and training sessions.
Assist colleagues as required.
Maintain a cost conscious attitude at all times, advise supervisor of any damage, spillage or breakage. Assist in periodic stocktakes of food, beverage, equipment and/or linen as required. Be familiar with linen item par stocks and replenishment procedures.

What we need from you:

Commercial Cookery qualification, and previous experience in a la carte service
The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 23 kg which can also involve bending and kneeling
A good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
A working knowledge and understanding of HACCP procedures
Great communication you'll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
