The Clinical Trials Manager (Research) is responsible for using their clinical knowledge and research and clinical trials experience to provide co-ordination of patient/client care delivery for clinical trial and research programs in the Spinal Unit, Royal Adelaide Hospital.

The position leads nursing and/or multi-disciplinary team activities and provides oversight of a range of trial activities such as trial feasibility, planning and execution, data collection and management, quality management, safety reporting and monitoring, ethics and other regulatory reporting requirements, and liaison with other health professionals and agencies, including industry partners to ensure high quality and health-oriented research data, and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of research participants.

The Clinical Trials Unit Manager (Research) is also accountable for implementing and co-ordinating, within span of control, quality assurance processes and developing and maintaining a learning environment including taking a coaching approach to team development, individual capability development and performance management.


The Clinical Trials Manager is responsible for engaging with Spinal Unit paraplegic and quadraplegic patients and their families as a resource for information on spinal cord injury, research and rehabilitation.

This role will utilise the resources of the South Australian Spinal Cord Injury Services, Patient and family support will be individually customised.


Qualifications

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Postgraduate qualifications recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
