Key responsibilities of this role

  • Provide project management and support to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved for the Safer Schoolies Initiative, including the Safer Schoolies Gold Coast response. Plan and coordinate support services for the Safer Schoolies response including but not limited to medical support (including specialist mental health support) and Recharge Zones (which offer space, water, assistance and first aid). Provide strategic advice on support services, mental health strategies, sexual assault risk reduction, and work closely with the Safer Schoolies Initiative Manager to ensure effective strategies are in place. Develop Safer Schoolies referral pathways for school leavers and the local community in need, operational plans, manuals and procedures, stakeholder presentations, training material and evaluation reports. Develop, maintain and lead effective working relationships with government partners, community organisations, commercial partners and contractors that are effective, collaborative and strategic. Facilitate and coordinate stakeholder meetings, site inductions and debriefings with contractors, and provide strategic recommendations to improve and maintain quality assurance. Source local service providers and lead procurement of thirdparty services. Ensure Schoolies Week support services reporting requirements are in place; ensure the Situation Report (SITREP) is maintained and reflective of stakeholder needs; participate in highrisk reporting meetings. Undertake assurance including checks and balances for compliance with standards and meeting objectives and undertake regular reviews for accountability and successful management of project, stakeholders and suppliers. Manage and track project budget and ensure payment milestones are met. Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people

It is a requirement of the role to be available to work on-the-ground during Schoolies week (Gold Coast) outside of normal business hours, and in the lead-up to Schoolies, work across multiple functions of the team, as part of cross-team collaboration.
