What is Coordinator Talent Acquistion at Hume


Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of Hume City Council's attraction, recruitment, selection and onboarding strategies to ensure strength in our employer brand, and ability to compete for the talent required to deliver on current and future operational imperatives across the business.


_ Strategic Leadership, Operational Recruitment, Talent Management Systems and Reporting_

Key Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Partner with hiring managers to determine talent needs, and develop and implement appropriate recruitment strategies that meet Council's objectives.
  • Educate leaders with a strong understanding of Councils workforce planning
  • Streamline recruitment processes and practices
  • Develop talent acquisition strategies through networking and researching to support innovative and sustainable recruitment practices and 'best practice' is adhered to.
  • Develop sourcing strategies and build networks within hardtofill areas within the organisation
  • Working with the People & Culture Business Partners to provide recruitment and onboarding support and advice to their client groups
  • Provide coaching partnerships to equip Council leaders with end to end recruitment and career succession processes, to positively influence their recruitment practices and positively influence organisational outcomes and behaviours.
  • Work collaboratively with the People and Culture team to ensure employment offers and other P&C administration is completed for a seamless handover and onboarding.
  • Be a Super User of Council's recruitment platform.
  • Provide guidance for new users (hiring managers) across Council.

_ About You_


You will coach and mentor leaders within the organisation to ensure that they are equipped with the right skills to make sound recruitment decisions.

Working across Council, this role will support hiring managers with sourcing talent and develop best practice approaches to recruitment, onboarding and integration of new employees.


To be successful, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in a senior recruitment role within a complex organisational environment
  • Demonstrated successful experience in working strategically with hiring managers to forecast future recruitment needs, leading, collaborating and influencing stakeholders to achieve effective business outcomes through talent acquisition.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with all levels of management and staff to coach and support in relation to recruitment policies and practices
  • Demonstrated experience in 'best practice' talent acquisition and innovative resourcing solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and executing talent acquisition projects.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people internal and external.
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline will be well regarded.
