What you'll be doing:


An opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist is available to join the Drug & Alcohol Medical Services team located at Nepean Hospital.


The primary purpose of this role will be the clinical leadership of psychologists working in the Drug & Alcohol Service and day to day operational management of a Psychology team.


Your role as the Senior Clinical Psychologist will be to provide high quality, patient focused, evidence-based psychological assessments, diagnosis and interventions for the purpose of improving the outcomes of patients and families/carers engaged in treatment programs with the NBMLHD Drug & Alcohol Service.

Selection criteria to be addressed:


  • Generally registered as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with area of practice endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology.
  • Extensive contemporary experience and knowledge of psychological practice.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current principles, policies and practices of health service delivery relevant to the area of Drug & Alcohol.
  • Extensive effective experience in assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with patient populations within a Drug & Alcohol framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in frontline leadership including developing and implementing clinical programs within timeframes, establishing referral pathways, communicating effectively with a range of service providers, promoting system change and delivering service outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient care and outcomes.
  • Current driver's license (NSW eligibility) and the willingness to travel for work purposes.
