An exciting executive career opportunity is available for a talented and highly experienced General Manager with strengths across men's fashion (footwear) to lead this niche organisation as it enters a new era as part of an expanding global business.


Established in Melbourne in 1996, the organisation has a significant retail presence with nine dedicated stores and around 250 stockists across Australia and New Zealand, showcasing its commitment to accessibility and customer service.

Each store reflects the brand's ethos of adventure and rugged elegance, providing customers with products and an experience that aligns with the spirt of the brand.


The Opportunity

We are looking to appoint a General Manager to take over from the founding Managing Director who will be exiting the business late 2024 following the sale in 2023 to global owners.


As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of the brand including driving growth across Australia and New Zealand to achieve the company's strategic goals.

You will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team to deliver on the annual business plan and drive revenue.

This role encompasses the leadership and well-being of the entire team, delivery of the annual business plan, and responsibility for the P&L of the company's various business units.


This role requires a visionary leader with a robust background in the footwear or fashion industry, strong digital and brand management skills, and a track record of successful team building and stock management.


  • 10+ years experience within the retail/wholesale sector (men's shoes)
  • Proven & extensive product development & sourcing background
  • Extensive people leadership capability to build a highperforming team in order to deliver strong commercial outcomes
  • A strong understanding of the business drivers within the fashion retail/wholesale sector within Australia and New Zealand
  • Strong commercial capability including effective negotiation skills
  • Agility and flexibility to tackle economic factors and changing business needs
  • An outstanding communicator with strong listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ambitious and wanting to take the business to another level
