Hort Innovation is a grower-owned, not-for-profit research and development corporation for Australian horticulture and each year we invest millions of dollars into critical R&D, extension, marketing, and international trade initiatives.

We work to drive productivity and profitability for our growers and the sector at large.


Based in North Sydney, with a hybrid work environment, we currently have a full-time permanent position available for a
Brand Manager.

The role is central to the delivery of the organisational strategy and the effective deployment of marketing levy funds, to create demand for Australian horticulture products.

You'll work closely with our Marketing Manager to deliver effective and cost-efficient marketing programmes for our larger industries; as well as opportunity to lead some our smaller industries.


Collaborating across all levels of our organisation, as well as with our horticulture industry partners and stakeholders, you'll help find what makes these fresh produce categories unique, then develop communications that resonate with Aussies.


Key responsibilities of the role

  • Analyse data and consumer insights
  • Foster positive industry relationships
  • Key participant in our strategic planning process to collaboratively build demand driving strategies
  • Translate investment plans into gotomarket strategies
  • Successfully manage projects from inception, through execution to postcampaign reporting
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders and agency partners
  • Collate measures and regularly report campaign results, against set KPIs, to stakeholders demonstrating the impact achieved by the marketing activities
  • Tertiary qualifications
  • Proven working experience as Brand Manager
  • Proven ability to translate marketing strategies into action plans
  • Experience in developing briefs that are simple, clear and inspire great outputs
  • Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix, with a focus on Digital/Social, PR and influencer management
  • Good relationship building skills for stakeholder management
  • Strong analytical skills and datadriven thinking
  • Clear simple communication and strong writing/editing skills
  • Skills in presenting and communicating recommendations to stakeholders
  • An open, collaborative mindset and keen learn new skills
