What you'll be doing:

This is a great opportunity to join the NBMLHD Team within the Oncology Haematology team, located at Nepean Hospital.


In this permanent part time role you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively carrying out all administrative duties associated with ward activity and patient management, including general reception duties, medical record management and accurate data entry for all patient ward transactions using the Hospital's PAS.


Your role will have you complete patient registrations and electronic record updates, ensuring accuracy and completeness of patient demographic information using iPM and attend and complete all NSW Health and Hospital mandatory training in the scheduled timeframes.

You will provide a flexible attitude and ability to be moved across multiple areas to maintain service provision as directed by the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Nurse Manager (NM) and Ward Clerk Manager.

This is a fast paced and challenging role that will see you adhere to NSW Health Policy & Procedures for all business rules within the department.

Selection criteria to be addressed:


  • Demonstrated extensive and varied clerical experience and knowledge, including reception experience
  • Demonstrated effective customer service skills
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience using Windows based software including databases and experience in using MS Word and Excel with proven typing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to be flexible and adaptable to workplace change
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and privacy including ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
