The Company:

Rosebank Engineering is a maintenance and manufacturing support provider of Aerospace Systems and components for Australian and other International Defence Forces.

The company combines engineering expertise with aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and; surface metal treatment and finishing in their capacity as a Part 145, DASR Part 21J, EASA Part 145, CASA Part 145, NADCAP, and AS9100D approved organisation.


The Bayswater facility is a precision engineering workshop (CNC Machining), supported by surface metal treatment (Electroplating) and finishing (Coatings), with NDT capabilities; in a modern, automated component production, repair & finishing facility.


Position Overview:


Key Areas of Responsibility:


  • Conduct precision spray painting in accordance with customer work orders and specifications coat thickness will range from 1580 microns
  • Prepare metal surfaces prior to coatings with base coats, primers and etching as specified for adherence purposes
  • Assist with masking of surface areas NOT to be coated this can be very fine and tedious in nature, precision is expected at all times and there is a dedicated masking team to assist, so this is not a core function
  • Interpret work orders and customer specifications, ensuring accuracy at all times, use of correct coatings (extremely high $$ value)
  • Record all pre & post quality control and inspection tests as per work instructions and customer specifications (use of Micrometers)
  • Maintain all plant and equipment to the standards expected and at all times comply with HSE requirements to ensure your safety and those around you and also product safety
  • Interpret specifications, technique sheets, process instructions and production data, and identify errors and areas for improvement
  • Proficient in the use of tools, fixtures and equipment associated with the performance of work duties
  • Assist engineering in the development of design changes, deviations and process improvement initiatives
  • Assist in the management and timely replenishment of consumables

Key Selection Criteria:


  • Possess formal trade qualifications
  • Cert III
  • Aircraft/Automotive Surface Finishing
    OR an equivalent
  • Previous experience working with Aerospace components or a related industry emphasis is on precision finishing to exceptional standards of quality
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required, along with strong written skills and attention to detail in completing works order documentation and recording material batch numbers and pre/post quality checks to each completed component
