OVERVIEW:
Our client is a major player within the specialty chemical distribution industry.
They are highly respected for the quality of the products they supply and source from the world's leading manufacturers (as their appointed agents) and; for the exceptional level of service they provide to their customers.
As a result of an impending retirement, they are now seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced OR emerging technical sales professional to the position of Key Account Manager - Surface Coatings & Performance Materials.
POSITION SCOPE:
As a Key Account Manager in this division, your role consists of two (2) key components:
- Manage an assigned group of "Major" customers to achieve & exceed designated sales Gross Profit Target.
- To increase business with existing customers and introduce new customers and new product opportunities.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
To be considered for this position, applicants
MUST satisfy the following key selection criteria:
- Possess
FULL working rights in Australia as a Permanent Resident OR Australian Citizen - Possess formal technical qualifications in Chemistry, Materials Science (Coatings/Polymers Advantageous) or a related discipline
- Be able to demonstrate a proven record of success in sales, with a demonstrable track record of actual results consistently exceeding budgeted and forecasted requirements
- Have at least 2 years relevant industry expertise in a commercial/sales capacity
- Have at least 2 years relevant industry expertise in a Formulation, Product Development, Technical or Operational capacity, having provided support and assistance to commercial teams to secure new business opportunities
- Possess Exceptional Communication, Negotiation, Influencing & Presentation skills
- Be able to demonstrate proven industry contacts, including membership with relevant industry bodies/councils and key industry positions you may have/held concurrently to your employment
- Have well developed computer skills with CRM's and all Microsoft Office Applications
- Highly selfmotivated, with strong time management and planning skills
