Your key responsibilities

  • As part of the QCAT Leadership Team, provide expert comprehensive and timely advice and support to the President and Executive Director and Principal Registrar on key issues impacting registry services and the operation of QCAT. Perform duties as defined in the QCAT Principal Registrar Instrument of Delegation, Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2009. Drive the strategic and business objectives of QCAT and support QCAT's leadership team by fostering a work environment focused on continuous improvement through the identification and implementation of business, process and technological improvement initiatives.
Identify and resolve strategic issues affecting the Tribunal including:

o as delegated by the Executive Director and Principal Registrar represent QCATon nominated committee/s; ando providing strategic and authoritative advice on the impact of new jurisdictions that are conferred on QCAT- On behalf of the Executive Director and Principal Registrar implement and drive policy and procedural reform including the promotion of innovative and consistent policies and procedures relevant to the QCAT jurisdictions.

Maintain oversight across all functions of the QCAT registry including:
o continuously improving the quality of services to the Tribunal and customerso utilising benchmarks to inform service performance to the judiciary, members and other Tribunal users to monitor and improve the effectiveness of service deliveryo monitoring the effectiveness of service delivery and negotiations of customer disputeso managing budget in accordance financial delegationso undertaking effective workforce planning, performance management and staff development for direct reports

  • Prepare submissions, briefs, memorandums and briefing notes and provide high level advice and support on behalf of QCAT. Develop strong relations with the judiciary and members, fostering collaborative networks and partnerships to enhance, develop and identify opportunities to facilitate excellence in service delivery. Drive the completion of QCAT initiatives and activities to support the achievement of the QCAT business plan and strategy. Contribute to the delivery of QCAT's ongoing services and success by undertaking, as needed, assignments and projects that align with current capabilities or provide a development opportunity.
