Activity Officer to join our team in a Casual capacity.

Reporting to the Family Partner Navigator and supported by senior activity officers, this position is responsible for providing recreational activities for children and their families during their stay at Manly.

From our base, opposite Manly beach in Sydney, we provide multidisciplinary health and disability services for children from rural and remote Australia with developmental, behavioural, and learning difficulties.

We provide allied health programs on-site in Manly, via telehealth, and through outreach into rural and remote communities


The Opportunity

  • To support senior activity officers plan, design and implement onsite recreational and learning activities for children and families accessing services at RFW.
  • Schedule, coordinate and provide after school and school holiday activities, including holiday camps.
  • This is a valuable opportunity for University and TAFE students to work alongside and learn from allied health, medical and educational staff (including psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, social workers, doctors, and teachers).
  • A flexible working arrangement ideal for students and/or those looking for additional employment.
  • Relevant NDIS training needed for the role will be provided on site.
  • Desired Skills and Experience
    To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have:
  • An interest in supporting the health and wellbeing of children from rural and remote parts of NSW
  • Relevant experience in working with children
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current unrestricted NSW Class LR Driver's license or willingness to obtain one
  • The ability to work flexibly and autonomously when required
  • Have a demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, maturity, initiative, and diplomacy
  • This role has been identified as a _Category A_ employee and requires protection against vaccine specified preventable diseases.
