Who are we looking for?


Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Indigenous Australian Alumni and Events Officer to join Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous Strategy, Chancellery Division.


An exciting opportunity exists for a vibrant and dynamic self-starter to work within the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Australians) for a period of up to 12 months.

This position will play a significant role in organising and supporting a range of university activities and events, working collaboratively with the Director, Indigenous Industry and Community Partnerships and other stakeholders internal and external to QUT.

About the Chancellery Division


Chancellery Division is responsible for strategy, including Indigenous strategy, government relations and policy, assurance and risk, international, marketing and communications, and business development.

The Chancellery Division is led by the Vice-Chancellor and President.


What you need to succeed

You will demonstrate:

  • Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree in a relevant discipline area, with at least four (4) years' relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in contributing to support, development and advancement strategies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with and effectively manage relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders (both internal and external).
  • High level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Proven digital literacy skills including the ability to use a range of databases and software packages.
