- _In this position with South East Local Land Services you'll be responsible for,

  • Coordinating the implementation of the South East Regional Strategic Weed Management Plan
  • Administering regional programs in partnership with Local Control Authorities and Weed Biosecurity Officers, aligning with strategic management plans at a local, state and national level
  • Building partnerships and supporting collaboration to address priority invasive weed management issues
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes for the environment and industry
  • Coordinate and facilitate the South East Regional Weeds Committee and subcommittee
  • Coordinate implementation of the SE Weeds Action regional subprogram
  • Administer program budgets and processes
  • Report to the SE Regional Weed Committee on weed matters within the region
  • Facilitate the development of management plans for regional priority weeds
  • Implement Monitoring, evaluation, reporting and improvement (MERI) framework for SE Regional Strategic Weed Management Plan

About You:


To be successful in this role you'll need practical invasive species (priority invasive weeds) management knowledge and experience, combined with proven project planning and strategy development experience.


This is a busy role so you'll need the ability to manage your time, handle a high workload & demonstrate accountability.

You'll need a high attention to detail with excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to engage and network with internal and external stakeholders.


Having a positive and solution focused attitude, you'll be able to think creatively and be able to solve problems for both yourself and others as they arise.

You'll also be able to work autonomously with limited supervision, as well as within a geographically dispersed team and be someone who simply get things done.


The ability to use a range of technology and software is required and previous knowledge using field data collection devices and GIS equipment would be ideal.
