The Position


St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals has a total of 367 beds, 307 for public patients and 60 for private patients, with the hospitals conveniently located within one complex, bringing health care closer to home.

We are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced Emergency Consultants to provide specialist emergency services to adult and Paediatric patients.

Our consultants will promote patient quality and safe care and provide leadership, training, supervision, mentorship and education to doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers.


We have;

  • 48 clinical treatment bays, including 3 resuscitation bays.
  • Designated Paediatric assessment beds.
  • 12 bed ED short stay unit that you will provide care from.
  • 4 bed, 6 chairs, ambulatory emergency care unit.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake clinical shifts as directed, which will include participation on the on-call/after-hours/weekend roster. Emergency Consultants have rostered non-clinical time

  • Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine.
  • Eligibility for full registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine.
  • Demonstrated substantial clinical experience in the management of high acuity patients in a complex hospital environment, including Paediatrics.
  • Evidence of career long education and professional development
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching at registrar or fellowship level.
  • Be enthusiastic and passionate about Emergency Medicine in a supportive environment.

We can offer you the following:

  • $424,958 base salary plus super per annum, pro rata for part time)
