The opportunity


This role is a great opportunity for someone that loves to make an impact, cares about the people that make up our awesome business and can work successfully both on their own and as part of a great (but small) team.


As Group Communications and Brand Manager, you'll lead a small team within the broader People & Culture team, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to drive impactful, internally-focused campaigns and content that effectively connects with all Vocus team members.

What you'll be doing day to day:

  • Build and implement our internal communications strategy which supports the key goals of our wider business strategy.
  • Work closely with the Chief People Officer to develop the People & Culture strategy and various people engagement activities.
  • Develop Executive and CEO communications to be delivered across a variety of channels, that align with the wider business strategy.
  • Develop and roll out all People & Culture initiatives to the internal business, including materials and creative for initiatives like goal setting, remuneration reviews, reward and recognition programs, benefits, learning and more.
  • Positively drive internal brand and employee value proposition (EVP) awareness, adoption and management throughout the business at all levels.
  • Create and manage internal brand materials and collateral for our team members with the help of a graphic designer, and positively drive brand awareness, adoption and management.
  • Manage the daytoday activity and governance of internal communication channels, including news, announcements, technical updates, calendars, newsletters, presentations and the intranet.
  • Manage Vocus' reputation and voice, and promote our culture through effective creation and implementation of a social media strategy, including promotion through LinkedIn and the Vocus website.
  • Work alongside the Diversity & Belonging committee to ensure activity aligns to our Values, is communicated clearly, and executed effectively.
  • Ensure our focus on Wellness is front of mind by promoting various initiatives and developing open and empathetic messaging.
  • Manage monthly or quarterly Australiawide internal events in collaboration with statebased teams, to promote social opportunities and our hybrid way of working.
  • Work closely with crossfunctional teams, to ensure communications and brand consistency and alignment.

What you'll need to be successful

  • At least five years' Internal Communications experience with large corporates.
  • Passion for brand management and experience creating and developing quality brand and collateral.
  • Experience launching People & Culture (HR) initiatives, change communications and delivering complex messaging.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams, influencing others to move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Proven experience or a strong understanding of event management.
  • Previous communications experience in a large telecommunications company like us, or in a similar industry with high standards and fast pace of work.
  • Ability to communicate in various voices and via different mediums.
  • Comfort juggling large scale projects, daytoday demands and generally performing under tight deadlines with competing priorities.
