About the role:


This position leads the Water Corporation's strategic planning process which includes the assessment of external trends assessment, coordination of the process to set corporate direction, business planning to convert it to action and corporate performance monitoring of the strategy.

The Head of provides support to the Board, Executive, General Managers, and Senior Managers.

You'll work in Leederville. It's a small, but vibrant suburb with plenty of cafes and nice places to eat. And you'll only have to walk 5 to 6 minutes from the train station to get to your desk.


What the role will involve:


  • Supporting the Chief Finance Officer to discharge their accountability to run a prudent and effective strategic planning process.
  • Supporting the Executive as a team to review and set the Corporate Strategy, including corporate objectives and key executive actions for the year.
  • Supporting and advising individual General Managers in the development of substrategies, transformation programs and business plans.
  • Communicate, facilitate, and influence decision making in the areas of holistic strategic planning process, strategy formation and monitoring, business planning and performance reporting
  • Influencing managers and corporate processes to ensure that employees within the business have a clear understanding of how their work contributes to the strategic and operational direction of the organisation.
  • As a member of the Corporation's Senior Management Team, actively contribute to the development and execution of strategy, setting of performance measures, design, and achievement of key business objectives.
  • You will work with teams to determine the optimal methods to utilise data to provide practical, valueadded analysis for decision making.

Every fibre of you ensures your managers and their teams assess change, plan effective action, and deliver against their business objectives and plans.


Your background and wide-ranging grasp of strategy development, business planning and performance reporting gives you the insights to continually improve ways of working - and find better outcomes for customers.

You believe your extensive experience and proven achievement of leading, developing, implementing is second to none.


It'll be your enthusiasm and commitment to a vison of cultural improvements towards value-based behaviours and business change that will pave your route to success in this role.

Ideally, you'll have a degree-level qualification in business or a related or combined disciplines together with relevant experience.
