The Role

The Mission Support Officer (MSO) Supervisor leads a team providing critical mission support functions enabling the conduct of Air Mobility missions.

This requires navigating a dynamic and often time-compressed environment to manage mission administration and resource management to ensure flying operations are coordinated for global missions.

You will liaise with Australian and foreign government agencies, and commercial entities to fulfil administrative aspects for aircraft and crew transits.

The MSO Supervisor operates with limited direction to deliver complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support within an integrated workforce.

The MSO Supervisor coordinates the on-call roster for out-of-hours Mission Support and may work outside core hours on occasions.


About our Team

Air Mobility Control Centre (AMCC) is situated at RAAF base Richmond NSW, accountable with the tasking and control of Air Mobility missions.

The team values proactivity and attention to detail and teamwork.

You will be reporting to the Commanding Officer, who is responsible for ensuring the conduct of Air mobility missions on behalf of Commander Air Mobility Group.

The team plan and coordinate administrative aspects which enable crews and aircraft to transport a range of cargo and personnel around the country and globally as and when required.

AMCC supports these operations 24/7 throughout the world.


As the MSO Supervisor, you will lead a small team of Air Force and APS members, setting work priorities, managing workflow and resources.

You will build team capacity through coaching and feedback and will review and develop the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit.

Applicants for the Mission Support Officer Supervisor position will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An ability to coordinate with a variety of stakeholders to ensure high profile missions are efficiently and effectively conducted by Air Force;
  • You will have a keen interest in the challenge of managing support aspects that enable aviation operations to support Defence Outcomes;
  • Applicants should demonstrate an enthusiastic and proactive character that is adaptive and resilient whilst establishing the ability to organise and prioritise competing demands, along with engaging with a wide range of stakeholders; and
  • You must also maintain and reflect Australian Public Service & Defence Values while undertaking your duties and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Proven success in administrative, coordination and financial management roles, and the ability to efficiently manage administrative tasks, is desirable. Diligence and attentiveness in governance and organising support requirements is essential.
