We currently have two newly created and exciting roles for experienced Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Advisors, supporting either to the SHE Management Systems or development & delivery of SHE Projects and Programs of work across the national portfolio of our Defence Delivery Business Unit.

As the SHE Advisor - Management Systems, you will have responsibility for developing and maturing our SHE Management Systems to ensure they are simple & effective for our people to use.
In addition to this, you will provide the business with the tools to ensure ongoing compliance to WHS and Environmental legislation, and ISO45001 & ISO14001 requirements.
This opportunity will see you:
- Design the Defence Delivery SHE Safety Management System Strategy to continually refine and provide fit for purpose documented SHE processes, tools and training.
- Develop & program manage the Change Management activities associated implementing new or changed SHE management systems processes, tools or training to ensure they are embedded and understood across the business.
- Liaise with the broader BAE Systems Australia SHE and Enterprise teams to benchmark best practise risk methodologies and share learnings.
- Work closely with the SHE Advisor
- Projects to collaborate and support the design, development & implementation of the Defence Delivery SHE Improvement Programs of work.
As the SHE Advisor - Projects you will have a focus on supporting & facilitating the design of the Business Unit SHE Strategy, & program the work to deliver against it, in close collaboration with our Senior Leaders, SHE professionals, and other functional teams from across the business.
This opportunity will see you:
- Support the design, development & implementation of the Defence Delivery SHE Improvement Programs of work.
- Liaise with the broader BAE Systems Australia SHE and Enterprise teams to benchmark best practise risk methodologies and share learnings.
- Work closely with the SHE Advisor
- Management Systems to collaborate and deliver programs of work & change programs
- Investigate & analyse information and facilitate engagement activities with key stakeholders to develop SHE Improvement Programs of work, based on SMART principles, to deliver sustainable Safety, Health & Environmental Improvements.
- Focus on increasing the effectiveness of the critical control program as part of targeted Significant Incident Fatality (SIF) reduction program.
- Participate in or lead formal investigations, specialist inspections and audits working with the Operational teams, SHE Delivery & Enterprise teams, to ensure findings and actions address systematic improvement and control effectiveness.
As an ideal applicant for these roles, you'll have:
- Australian Citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain defence security clearance to a minimum of Baseline.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant WHS legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks and governance requirements.
- Strong stakeholder, engagement and influencing skills at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in providing advice to middle or senior management level on highrisk/ impact matters.
- Tertiary Qualification in Safety or related discipline (required).
- Strong time management & program management skills.
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
