THE ROLE:


The STS Taskforce is working with business and across all levels of government to deliver the most significant whole-of-government cross-border trade reforms in more than a decade.

This includes working to make trade rules simpler and easier for businesses to comply with, digitising cross-border trade processes to be more efficient, enabled by modern ICT systems with improved data sharing, while strengthening border and biosecurity controls.

The work of the STS Taskforce supports the Government's broader trade and digital agendas, including Trade 2040.

Our work will deliver regulatory, process and digital reforms which will deliver value to both business and Government over the short, medium, and longer terms.


THE OPPORTUNITY:

Work at the STS Taskforce is fast-paced and presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate, design and deliver whole-of-government outcomes.

The STS Taskforce has a vacancy for a highly motivated, adaptable and reliable Executive Assistant based in Canberra.

As an APS5/6 Executive Assistant, you will work directly with and support the Head of the Taskforce, and work cohesively as part a team to support the Senior Executive Leadership team and broader Taskforce.


Duties:

As an Executive Assistant, you will undertake a wide variety of duties to support the Head of Taskforce including:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Senior Executive Leadership team and broader STS Taskforce, as required.
  • Support staff to manage Taskforce deadlines and clearances for the Senior Executives
  • Arrange, coordinate and reconcile all aspects of domestic and international travel inline with travel policies
  • Organise credit card acquittals
  • Build and sustain relationships to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the coordination of strategic activities for the Taskforce (e.g. planning days, showcases and capability building sessions)
  • Contribute to and implement improved practices and processes, both individually and as part of the broader Executive Advisory and Taskforce Coordination team
  • Manage the coordination of Taskforce Ministerial and interagency engagements including Interdepartmental meetings, Steering Committees and other key engagements, as required
  • Provide quality assurance (including proof reading and editing) of documents such as briefs, minutes and other advice
  • Manage the workflow and briefing requirements for the Head of Taskforce and monitor deadlines
  • Play a key role in mentoring and developing the STS Taskforce Executive Assistant cohort.
