Why do we need you?


We have a part-time opportunity for a suitably qualified person to join the Climate Acton Integration Team in the Data and Project Support Officer role.


This position prepares Hume's annual greenhouse gas inventory and collects and maintains electricity, gas and water data to support energy and water efficiency and contract management.

Desktop scoping of solar opportunities and management of solar data is part of the role.

Hume City Council serves a growing and highly diverse population of 224,000 in Melbourne's north.


About You
As a Data and Project Support Officer who is passionate about delivering high-quality services your responsibility/qualifications and expertise will include but not limited to:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant sustainability, environmental or energy studies and relevant experience (or less formal qualifications and substantial relevant experience).
  • Experience preparing greenhouse gas inventories, managing, evaluating, and interpreting data and communicating energy, greenhouse gas emissions and water use trends.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation of graphs) for highly effective interaction with other staff, external customers, and stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel Spreadsheet skills and capacity to review, evaluate, maintain, and interpret data sets.
  • Capacity to effectively use other Microsoft Office software and a range of databases
  • Demonstrated office and project administration skills
  • Current driver's licence
