What is a Revenue Officer for Hume?
Working as part of the Finance department the Revenue Officer has responsibility to provide high quality service to ratepayers, residents and clients of the organisation along with initiate and process all facets of rate office processes and functions.
- Negotiate repayment arrangements, update the P&R system and the issuing of payment books to ratepayers as required.
- Ensure an uptodate data base by creating new records, changes in valuation, recording property ownership and address changes, issue of various accounts and the issue of Land Information Certificates
- Assist in updating Council's cashier's receipts, agency payments and payroll rate payment deductions
About You
As a Revenue Officer you will have demonstrable skills and qualifications including but not limited to:
- A good working knowledge of the rating provisions of the Local Government Act
- Experience in raising and issuing supplementary and waste charges
- Proven experience in dealing with members of the public and staff members
- Sound verbal and written skills together with high levels of attention to detail
- Aptitude for correctness, completeness and research across multiple databases
- Ability to prepare reports and source, collate and present accurate detailed data.
