About the role
As an Safety & Training Coordinator, your duties and responsibilities shall include the following as a minimum:

  • Ensure employees comply with Redpath Australia's management operation procedures (MOP's);
  • Coordinate and participate in Redpath's workplace inspection schedule on site including tracking personnel participation levels;
  • Conduct risk assessment and JSA training;
  • Prepare and conduct toolbox and safety meetings;
  • Assist the operations with the risk management processes on site such as JSA's and risk assessments;
  • Develop and implement training modules for the workforce;
  • Regularly review Safety Data Sheets;
  • Review all new substances that come on site to ensure that all site requirements are met i.e. approval form, risk assessment, entered onto register, PPE required;
  • Conduct rehabilitation and return to work coordinators duties on site including compiling documentation, managing injured workers, consulting with health professionals;
  • Report all incidents, accidents or near misses;
  • Conduct investigations for incidents as required on site and within designated time frames;
  • Ensure reporting of all reportable incidents that occur on site within designated time frames;
  • Provide advice to management of Workplace Health and Safety legislative requirements;
  • Ensure training documentation for all personnel is filed and maintained;
  • Conduct Workplace Inspections (eg Take 5's/TTTCs) and JSA's when required.
  • Experience in a safety professional role within the mining, construction or heavy industry;
  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
  • Current first aid & CPR qualification;
  • Qualified or be able to become a qualified Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator;
  • Current Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) qualifications;
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation legislation in Queensland;
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to lead by example;
  • Solid planning and organisational skills so as to prioritise and schedule tasks according to changing priorities.

  • High attention to detail;
  • Outstanding integrity;
